Quick Bread and Butter Pudding with Tangy Sauce

2 large fresh bread slices
1 1/2 cups milk
10 tsp sugar
5 to 6 drops of vanilla essence
4 tsp butter

For the sauce
4 tbsp orange marmalade
5 to 6 drops of lemon juice

  1. For the pudding
  2. Grease a shallow dish with 1 teaspoon of butter.
  3. Mix the milk, sugar and essence.
  4. Place the bread slices in the dish, pour the sweetened milk on top and dot with the remaining butter. Microwave on HIGH for 4 minutes.

For the sauce

  1. Dissolve the marmalade in the lemon juice.

How to serve

  1. Pour the sauce over the bread slice and serve.
