Whole wheat parathas enhanced with paneer and spring onions, this is a wonderful choice for your kids’ snack box, as the addition to protein and calcium rich paneer keeps the parathas nice and soft even in the afternoon. Pack it with a tomato-based accompaniment and curds to boost the protein content.

Ingredients

1/2 cup grated paneer (cottage cheese)
2 spring onions , finely chopped
3/4 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
2 green chillies , finely chopped
salt to taste
freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) powder to taste

Other Ingredients
oil for cooking

Method
  1. Combine all the ingredients and knead into a soft dough using water.
  2. Divide into 6 equal parts.
  3. Roll out each portion into a circle of 125 mm. (5") diameter.
  4. Cook each paratha on a griddle (tava), smearing a little oil, until both sides are golden brown.
  5. Serve hot with sweet and sour tomato relish.
