A low-cal, vitamin-rich and super-tangy sauce that goes very well with stewed fruits, vanilla custard, ice-cream and all your favourite desserts! this version of orange sauce can be prepared within minutes using orange juice and china grass. Always keep some on hand to refresh your taste-buds whenever you wish to!

3 tsp chopped agar-agar
juice of 3 oranges
a few drops lemon juice
3 tsp sugar
a few drops of orange essence
a few drops orange colour

  1. Add 1/2 teacup of water to the china grass and cook on a slow flame until it dissolves completely. Strain.
  2. Add the orange juice and boil for 1 minute.
  3. Cool until lukewarm and then add the lemon juice and sugar.
  4. Pour the mixture into an ice tray and put to set in the freezer compartment of a refrigerator. When partially set, stir for a few seconds.
  5. Add the orange essence and colouring.
