The fresh flavour of oranges is enhanced by the addition of Tang which also contributes to the soothing orange colour of this delightful ice-cream. The orange segments add more zing to this recipe.

Ingredients


2 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp cornflour
3 tbsp orange flavoured tang
1/2 cup (100 ml.) cream
a few drops of orange essence
1/2 cup orange segments
1/2 recipe Butterscotch Sauce

Method
  1. Combine the cornflour with ½ cup of milk and keep aside.
  2. Heat the remaining milk in a heavy bottomed pan and add the sugar. Simmer for 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Add the cornflour mixture and continue to simmer while stirring continuously till the mixture coats the back of spoon evenly. Cool completely and add the Tang and orange essence.
  4. Add the cream, mix well and pour into a shallow container. Cover and freeze till it is almost set.
  5. Add the orange segments and butterscotch sauce mix lightly.
  6. Transfer into a shallow container. Cover and freeze till it is firm.
  7. Scoop and serve.
