Moong dal crispies pack these crispies made from protein rich moong dal for a crunchy munchy snack, which all kids will enjoy.

1/2 cup yellow moong dal (split yellow gram) , soaked for 30 minutes
1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
2 tbsp oil
1/3 cup finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tbsp sesame seeds (til)
2 tsp ginger-green chilli paste
1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
3 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
salt to taste
1/4 tsp oil for kneading
whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta) for rolling
oil for deep-frying

  1. Drain the dal and blend in a mixer to a coarse paste.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, add all the ingredients and knead well to make semi-stiff dough. Cover with a wet muslin cloth and keep aside for 5 minutes.
  3. Knead again using oil till smooth and divide it into 4 equal portions. Keep aside.
  4. Roll out a portion into a 250 mm. (10”) diameter thin circle using a little flour for rolling.
  5. Cut equal sized diamond shape pieces using a sharp knife.
  6. Repeat with the remaining portions to make more pieces.
  7. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep-fry the pieces in batches til they turn golden brown in colour from both the sides. Drain on absorbent paper.

How to pack

  1. Cool completely and pack in a tiffin box.
