Thickly grated radish is perked up by the addition of an unusual combination of ingredients like garlic, mustard seeds and lemon juice. This makes a tongue tickling dish that is low in calories and carbohydrates and so is a perfect accompaniment to a main course like khichdi or parathas.

Method
  1. Combine all the ingredients except salt in a deep bowl and allow it to marinate for at least an hour. Cover with a lid and refrigerate for atleast 30 minutes.
  2. Serve chilled.

Handy tip:

  1. Radish emits a strong odour. Remember to cover the bowl tightly and or plastic wrap so that the other foods in the refrigerator do not smell like radish too.

The chilli makes it a little spicy, but it the lemon juice makes it tangy. It tastes better when chilled.

I love raddish and this chilled salad tastes great with the adding of garlic, lemon juice for its tanginess and green chilli for that little spice.
