Modak is a sweet dumpling stuffed with a filling of coconut and jaggery. Famous in western and South India.

Ingredients


1 cup rice flour (chawal ka atta)
1 cup water
1 tsp oil
oil for greasing
a pinch of salt

For the filling
1 cup grated jaggery (gur)
1 cup greated fresh coconut
1/2 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
1½ tablespoons ghee
