This tastes just as well with rice and dal or rotis or puris.
I tried it for my kids with rice and sambhar. it was a hit.

Ingredients


4 to 5 medium potatoes
2 medium onions
2 medium tomatoes
2 flakes of garlic (lehsun)
1/2 " piece of ginger (adrak)
400 gms mixed sprouts
salt to taste
a pinch of turmeric powder (haldi)
coriander (dhania) powder to taste
chilli powder to taste
chole masala powder to taste
2 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 whole dry kashmiri red chillies , broken
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)

Method

  1. Pressure cook the sprouted pulses with a pinch of haldi and salt.
  2. Pressure cook the potatoes.
  3. Chop the onions and tomatoes roughly.
  4. Grate the ginger and garlic.
  5. Heat oil in a kadai and splutter the rai and jeera in it. add the red chilli broken into two pieces.
  6. Add the chopped onions along with the ginger and garlic. fry till onions turn red.
  7. Add the peeled and chopped potatoes. fry for a few minutes.
  8. Add the chopped tomatoes, chilli powder, haldi powder,dhania powder,chole masala. stir well.
  9. Add salt and cooked sprouts. mix well and add a cup of water.
  10. Cover and simmer for five minutes till the required consistency is reached.
  11. Garnish with coriander leaves.
