Mangalorean Tea

A caffeine free tea made with only natural herbs to soothe your throat and help expel mucus. It is also called kasai or kadha.

Ingredients


1 1/2 tbsp Spicy Tea Powder (recipe below)
1 1/2 tsp misri (khadi sakar)
2 tbsp milk

For the spice powder
1/4 cup coriander (dhania) seeds
1 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 1/2 pcs fennel seeds (saunf)
1/4 tsp fenugreek (methi) seeds

Method

    For the spice powder

    1. Dry roast all the ingredients on a tava (griddle) and grind to a coarse powder.
    2. Cool and store in an air-tight container. Use as required.

    How to proceed

    1. Boil 1 cup of water and add the spice powder and misri to it.
    2. Simmer for about 3 to 4 minutes and then add the milk.
    3. Bring to a boil, strain and serve.
    4. Sip while it is hot for best results.
