Delicious and easy to make burfi made with maida and lots of ghee. A yummy indian dessert.

2 cups plain flour (maida)
5 cups sugar
1 tbsp ghee
water to make sugar syrup


  1. Roast maida slightly in a tsp of ghee. keep aside.
  2. Make a sugar syrup to one string consistency.
  3. Add the roasted maida at once into the syrup continously stirring without forming lumps.
  4. Keep stirring then and there in a medium flame till the mixture starts to thickens.
  5. Pour it immediately into a greased thali.
  6. Sprinkle cut cashew/pistha and some sugar and flatten it with a spatula.
  7. Allow it to settle for a minute and then cut it into squares.
  8. Store in a clean container.
