Sweet and sour, chatpata chaat… mom, you are gonna rise really high up your kid's popularity chart! this is a smart way to make your child consume protein and calcium rich kabuli chana and paneer, which might otherwise not seem too enticing.

Ingredients


For The Khatti-meethi Chutney
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 cups chopped mint leaves (phudina)
1 cup chopped coriander (dhania)
4 to 6 green chillies , roughly chopped
12 mm ( 1/2") piece of ginger (adrak)
1 to 2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp chaat masala
salt to taste

Other Ingredients
1 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 cup boiled kabuli chana (white chick peas)
1 cup boiled , peeled and mashed potatoes
1/2 cup chopped paneer (cottage cheese)
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup khajur imli ki chutney , recipe above
salt to taste
1/2 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)

Method
For the khatti-meethi chutney

  1. Combine all the ingredients and blend in a mixer to a smooth paste using a little water if required.
  2. Refrigerate and use as required.

How to proceed

  1. Heat the butter in a non-stick pan and add the cumin seeds.
  2. When the seeds crackle, add the kabuli chana, potatoes, paneer and tomatoes, mix well and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Remove from the flame and keep aside to cool.
  4. When cool, add the khatti-meethi chutney, salt, lemon juice and coriander and mix well.
  5. Serve immediately.
