Kesari sweet curd, if you have a sweet tooth and crave for something sweet after every meal, here’s a fast and healthy sweet flavoured with cardamom and saffron that will surely make you feel royal. The skimmed milk, further thickened using skimmed milk powder, is set to make protein-rich yoghurt without the fat! savour this sweet along with a traditional indian meal that provides only 58 calories per serving !

Makes 4 serves


Ingredients

2 tsp skim milk powder
1 tbsp sugar substitute
2 pinches of cardamom (elaichi) powder
2 pinches of saffron (kesar) strands
dissolved in 2 tsp warm
low-fat milk (99.7% fat-free readily
available in the market)
1 1/2 cups low-fat milk
(99.7% fat-free , readily
available in the market)
1 tsp freshlow-fat curds

Method
  1. Combine the skim milk powder, sugar, cardamom powder, saffron and milk together in a deep pan, mix well and bring to a boil. Keep aside.
  2. When it turns lukewarm, add the curds and mix well.
  3. Divide it into 4 equal portions and pour each into 4 individual bowls. Cover and keep aside to set.
  4. When set, refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Serve chilled.

Handy tip :

  1. During the cold climate, place inside a casserole or closed oven to set.
