A traditional jowar flour snack flavoured with spices and garlic. Khichu is generally eaten along with pickle oil, but the sesame oil tastes just as good. If you wish to make this recipe ahead of time, remember to sprinkle a little water before reheating it in the microwave.

Ingredients


1 cup jowar (white millet) flour
1 1/2 cups water
1 tsp ginger-green chilli paste
1 large clove grated garlic (lehsun)
1 tsp sesame seeds (til)
1 tsp curds (dahi)
1 tsp oil
salt to taste

To Serve
1 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tsp sesame (til) oil

Method
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a microwave safe bowl and mix well so that no lumps remain.
  2. Microwave on high for 5 minutes stirring every 1½ minutes.
  3. Serve hot garnished with the chopped coriander and sesame

Its ok. The taste takes some getting used to especially if you are fond of eating rice khichu...Its not as yummy as the rice khichu but definitely healthier.
