A maharashtrian snack-this is one of the most popular and nutritious delicacies of this region. The whole grains are rich in vitamin e that helps in skin rejuvenation, wound healing, boosting immunity and protection against various diseases. You can use this combination of flours to make chapattis that are healthy and wholesome.

Makes 6 thalipeeths


Ingredients

3 tbsp bajra (black millet) flour
3 tbsp jowar (white millet) flour
3 tbsp whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
3 tbsp besan (bengal gram flour)
3/4 cup shredded cabbage
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1/2 tsp coriander-cumin seed (dhania-jeera) powder
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste
1 3/4 tsp oil for greasing and cooking

Method
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and add enough water to make soft, loose dough.
  2. Divide it into 6 equal portions and keep aside.
  3. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and grease it using ¼ tsp of oil.
  4. Wet your hands and spread a portion of the dough on it to form a 100 mm. (4”) diameter thick circle.
  5. Cook on both the sides, using ¼ tsp of oil, till it is golden brown in colour from both the sides.
  6. Repeat with the remaining dough to make 3 more thalipeeths.
  7. Serve hot.
