Prepare the authentic Jackfruit kheer by stir frying the jackfruit pieces in ghee along with roasted cashews, raisins, sugar and milk. A sweet and creamy kheer recipe, the jackfruit kheer is enjoyed garnished with cardamom powder.

Ingredients


2 cups raw jackfruit, cut into small pieces
2 tbsp ghee to fry
1 cup sugar or to taste
a pinch of salt
1 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
3/4 ltr boiled milk
1/2 cup cashewnuts (kaju) and raisins (kismis)

Method

  1. Heat a kadai add ghee & when hot fry the cashew nuts & raisins & set aside
  2. In the same ghee fry jackfruit pieces till slightly brown.
  3. Add milk and allow to boil along with jackfruit
  4. Let it cook in the milk & condense it to ½ the quantity add sugar & salt
  5. Allow to cook further & finally add elichi powder & add cashew nuts & raisins & serve hot.
