Horlicks cake ice cream is an innovative ice cream recipe prepared by mixing Horlicks with milk and freezing. The Horlicks ice cream is garnished with crushed cake

3 cups milk
5 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp cornflour
1 tbsp plain agar-agar
1/4 cup fresh cream
3 tbsp horlicks
1 cup leftover chocolate cake pieces.


  1. Boil 2 1/2 cups of milk.add sugar & cook uncovered on slow
  2. Fire for 15 min,stirring frequently.
  3. Take 1/4 cup of milk
  4. And warm it.add horlicks powder into it.mix well and take care there is no lumps.add this to the boiling milk.
  5. Mix cornflour and chinagrass with 1/4 cup of coldmilk and
  6. Add to the boiling milk.
  7. Cook on slow fire, stirring
  8. Continuously till the mixture boils and thickens.remove
  9. From fire and cool at room temperature.
  10. Whip the contents in a mixure for one minute.add cold cream and run the mixer for 5 seconds so that cream is well mixed.
  11. Pour the contents into a aluminium container and cover with aluminium foil.
  12. Place the container in a freezer till it is
  13. Half set.remove and whip in the mixer for 2 min.
  14. Pour back the mixture into the container.
  15. Crumble the cake pieces,& add 3/4th into the icecream and mix it lightly.
  16. Place the icecream container, properly covered ,back in the
  17. Freezer till it is set.just before serving, decorate the ice cream with the crumbled cake.
