The honey chicken is an amazing chicken recipe with a sweet and sour taste and added flavours of honey and lime juice with chicken. Learn an easy way of recreating this Chinese honey chicken recipe and enjoy as starter or with stir fried noodles.

Ingredients


FOR THE CHICKEN:-
1kg chicken(with bones)
2 to 3 tbsp plain flour (maida)
2 to 3 tbsp cornflour
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 egg
a pinch of ajinomoto
salt and black pepper (kalimirch) powder to taste
a little water
oil for frying
FOR THE VEG.TO BE PUT ALONG WITH CHICKEN:-
10 to 12 garlic (lehsun) cloves
2 to 3 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
2-3 green onions(both leaves and the onions)
2-3 capcicums(chopped in big pieces)
3-4 onions(chopped finely length wise)
1/2-1 cup stock of bones (optional)
2 tbsp oil
a pinch of ajinomoto
salt and pepper to taste
FOR THE HONEY SAUCE:-
2tbsp honey
1 tbsp soy sauce
1-2tbsp tomato sauce
1 cap of wosterchyire sauce
1 cap of 8&8 sauce
1/2tsp chilli sauce
1/4tsp vinegar
1/2tsp brown sugar
a pinch of ajinomoto

Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients of the sauce given above together and keep aside.
  2. Now take the chicken and shred all the flesh &make small pieces of it and keep it in a bowl and prepare stock with the bones if u want to serve with gravy.
  3. Now to the flesh pieces in the bowl add maida,cornflour, salt,pepper,ajinomoto,soya sauce,little water&mix well.then add a egg to it.keep this mixture aside for 30 min.
  4. After 30 min fry the chicken till brown&crisp and keep aside.
  5. Now take a pan add oil and heat it.
  6. Then add garlic cloves and fry till they r brown.
  7. Then add the red chillies divided into 2 pieces and saute for a min.
  8. Then add green onions and saute &then add the other onions to and saute till they are pinkish in color.
  9. Now add the capcicum and fry them to with the onions for 2-4 min.
  10. Then add the fried chicken to this and mix well.
  11. To this add the sauce that we prepared in the begining and add some more salt&pepper&a little ajinomoto and mix well.
  12. Then add a little stock if u want it in the form of gravy.
  13. Bring it to a boil and serve hot by garnishing it with some finely chopped green onion leaves.
