Gulabjamun Cheese Cake

A delicious sweet treat made with gulab jamuns...all time favourite treats!

Preparation Time: 2 hrs
Makes 6 to 8 pieces

2 cups whipped cream
1/4 cup icing sugar
2 cups mascarpone cheese
1 tsp cinnamon (dalchini) powder
1 vanilla sponge cake , 6" diameter
1 kg mini rose jamun , readily available
1 lemon zest
1 tbsp chopped pistachios
few saffron (kesar) strands strands dissolved in little warm water

  1. Whip the cream separately and add icing sugar and fold gently.
  2. Add the mascarpone cheese and mix well till smooth.
  3. ADd the cinnamon powder and fold gently.
  4. Add saffron water to this mixture and fold gently.
  5. In a tray arrange the vanilla sponge and spread the mixture on the top.
  6. Add mini gulab jamun on it and grate the zest and again cover it with the mixture
  7. Refrigerate for 30 - 45 minutes or till set.
  8. Serve chilled.
