Ingredients


3/4 cup uncooked long grained rice (basmati)
275 gms cauliflower, cut into big pieces
175 gms green peas
225 gms small potatoes (whole)
2 sticks cinnamon (dalchini)
2 cloves (laung / lavang)
2 cardamoms (elaichi)
2 bayleaves (tejpatta)
2 onions, chopped
4 tbsp ghee
salt to taste

To be ground into a paste
1 big bunch fresh coriander (dhania)
6 green chillies
25 mm. piece ginger (adrak)
10 cloves garlic (lehsun)

Method
  1. Put the ghee in a glass bowl and microwave on HIGH for about 30 seconds.
  2. Add the onion and microwave on HIGH for 1 1/2 minutes, stirring once in-between after 30 seconds.
  3. Add the paste and microwave on HIGH for 1 minute, stirring once in-between after 30 seconds.
  4. Add the cinnamom, cloves, cardamom and bay leaves and microwave on HIGH for 1 minute.
  5. Add the rice, vegetables, salt and 2 teacups of water.
  6. Cover and microwave on HIGH for about 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the vegetables are cooked.

Tips
  1. Serve with kadhi or curds.
