A tongue-tickling chutney that finds many uses in Indian cuisine! While it is a wonderful accompaniment to everything from puris to samose, this versatile Green Chutney, with the dominant flavour of coriander and green chillies, is also used in the preparation of several savouries, snacks and tiffin recipes. It can, for example, be used to line chapatis when preparing a roll. It is also suitable for consuming on fasting days.

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:     Makes 0.5 cup

1 1/2 cups chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tbsp roughly chopped green chillies
4 tbsp grated coconut
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp sugar
rock salt to taste
  1. Combine all the ingredients and blend in a mixer till smooth.
  2. Store refrigerated in an air-tight container and use as required.

This is a wonderful chutney. It goes well with every dish. I quite often prepare this chutney.

I like to add some ginger & garlic as well as peanuts.

Green chutney,As i thought green chutney cannot be made without garlic. But this recipe works great during fasting days. Now i can relish my faraal pattice with this yummy chutney.
