A delicious snack to be served hot with tomato ketchup!

150 ml sour cream
2 tbsp horseradish sauce
225 gms cod fillet , skinned and chopped
225 gms mushrooms (khumbh) , chopped
45 ml chopped parsley
75 gms bread crumbs
50 gms chopped hazelnuts
1 egg , beaten
oil for deep-frying
coriander (dhania) for the garnish

  1. Combine the soured cream and horseradish sauce, blend in a mixer then chill.
  2. Blend the cod and mushrooms until fairly smooth.
  3. Add the parsley and seasoning, mix well and divide the mixture into 24 balls, then chill for at least 1 hour.
  4. Combine the breadcrumbs and hazelnuts together.
  5. Dip the balls into the egg, then coat in the breadcrumbs mixture.
  6. Chill until ready to fry in hot oil until golden brown.
  7. Drain, then serve hot with the horseradish sauce.
  8. Garnish with coriander.
