Garlic croutons are made by frying bread cubes with crushed garlic. These give a lovely subtle garlic flavour to any dish that they are used in.

Ingredients

1 clove of garlic (lehsun)
3 white bread slices
oil for frying
chilli powder (optional)
salt and to taste

Method
  1. Crush the garlic.
  2. Remove the crusts from the bread slices and cut the bread into small cubes.
  3. Heat the oil. When hot, add the bread cubes and cook whilst stirring constantly.
  4. When the cubes start to turn colour, add the garlic and mix well.
  5. When the cubes are golden brown, remove and drain.
  6. Sprinkle salt and pepper and a little chilli powder, if desired.
  7. Serve hot.
