Fruit Compote

Ingredients


6 to 8 dried apricots (kummani / jardalu)
¼ cup dried prunes
1/4 cup dates (khajur)
1/2 cup chopped fresh pineapple
½ cup white wine
1/2 cup apple juice
1 star anise (chakri phool)
1 small sized cinnamon (dalchini) stick
1 tbsp sugar

For serving
whipped cream or vanilla ice-cream

Method
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a pan and bring to a boil.
  2. Cover the pan and simmer until fruits are tender.
  3. Put compote in a bowl and allow it to cool to room temperature.
  4. Serve in a plate topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice-cream.
