Imagine a nice soup without crunchy croutons? children especially love the taste of deep-fried croutons with soup. They’re easy to make, so the next time you are preparing a soup for your loved ones, just make a batch of croutons too. This way you will add special taste to the soups and salads as well as use up the stale bread left in the kitchen. Store the crisp croutons in air-tight containers.
- Remove the crust from the bread slices and cut into equal-sized small cubes.
- Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep-fry the bread cubes till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve immediately or store in an air-tight container.
