DO YOU KNOW?
What is golden syrup?
Golden syrup is a thick, golden brown by-product of cane sugar refining. The taste is mostly sweet, although there is a slight acidic, metallic component. There is no much difference if you substitute golden syrup in the recipe with honey, which is more freely available locally. But you have to keep in mind that honey and golden syrup can be substituted for one another but are not one and the same.
