Ingredients

1 1/4 cups deseeded and thinly sliced bitter gourd (karela)
1 tsp oil
1/4 tsp chilli powder
a pinch of turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp jaggery (gur)
salt to taste

Method
  1. Heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan, add the karela slices and cook on a medium flame for 8 to 10 minutes or till crisp, while stirring occasionally.
  2. Add the chilli powder, turmeric powder, jaggery and salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
  3. Serve immediately.
