The soup with the delicate flavouring of lettuce. Lettuce is an excellent source of iron and vitamin c that helps to absorb iron better.

Ingredients

3 bundles lettuce , cleaned and chopped
1 cup chopped onions
1 cup milk
2 tbsp plain flour (maida)
2 tsp butter
salt and to taste

Method
  1. Heat the butter in a saucepan, add the onions and lettuce and fry for a little time.
  2. Mix the milk and plain flour and add to the vegetable mixture together with 4 cups of water.
  3. Cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Blend the mixture in a liquidiser and strain the soup.
  5. Heat for some time, add salt and pepper.
  6. Serve hot.
