Corn and Bean Sprouts ( Chinese Cooking )

A typically oriental combination of bean sprouts and corn in a garlicky tomato base. Corn and bean sprouts can be served as a table-top accompaniment to almost any chinese preparation, be it a noodle, soup or rice preparation. It may also be used in making other dishes.
- Heat the oil in a wok or frying pan on a high flame. Add the chilli-garlic paste and stir fry over a high flame for a few seconds.
- Add the tomato puree and tomato ketchup and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add the corn, bean sprouts and salt and cook again for 1 minute.
- Add the cornflour-water mixture, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.
- Serve hot.
