Tasty breakfast pancakes made with flour, egg and milk batter and sprinkled with cinnamon powder.

Ingredients


1 cup plain flour (maida)
1 egg
1 cup cold milk
1/4 cup water
oil for cooking
salt to taste
1 tsp cinnamon (dalchini) powder

Method


    Batter

    1. Mix the cold milk and water and let it stand for 5 minutes.
    2. Seive the flour and salt in a bowl.
    3. Make a well in the centre and drop the egg.
    4. Mix to ensure all the flour is coated with the egg.
    5. Add the milk to this mixture a little at a time. (some of the milk might be leftover)
    6. Make sure you stir continuously to avoid lumps.
    7. Add cinnamon powder.
    8. Let the pancake mixture stand for a few minutes and then add the rest of the milk. mix.
    9. Allow the batter to stand for 20 minutes before cooking.

    Cooking

    1. Heat a non-stick open pan, put a drop of oil.
    2. Pour out one ladle full of the batter into the centre of the pan. (do not spread the batter with spoon. simple pour into the centre).
    3. Cook on simmer for 1-2 mins on each side to get a golden coloured pancake.
    4. Pancakes cook fast so adjust heat accordingly.
    5. Remove to a plate and drench in maple syrup.
    6. Serve hot!
