Possibly the easiest and the most delicious form of icing is Butter Icing. Chocolate adds flavour and is no wonder a popular choice for basic cakes!

approx. 3/4 cup

100 gms icing sugar
1 tsp cocoa powder
3/4 tbsp chocolate powder
50 gms butter or margarine
a few drops vanilla essence

  1. Sieve the icing sugar and cocoa powder and chocolate powder together and keep aside.
  2. In a bowl, cream the soft butter or margarine using a wooden spoon till it is light and smooth.
  3. Gradually, add the sieved icing sugar mixture and cream till all the icing sugar is added.
  4. Add the vanilla essence and mix well.Use it as per the recipe.
