Chinese Idlis

Traditional south indian idlis with a twist of chinese taste. Serve as a snack or starter. Tastes delicious with schezuan sauce!

Makes 8 idlis


6 leftover idlis
2 tbsp oil
2 thinly sliced onions
1 cup shredded cabbage
1 cup thinly sliced carrots
1 thinly sliced capsicum
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp chilli sauce
1 tsp vinegar
salt to taste
freshly ground black pepper powder to taste

  1. Cut the idlis into 4 equal parts and keep aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan, add the onions and saute till they turn golden brown in colour.
  3. Add the carrots, cabbage and capsicum, mix well and saute for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the sauces and mix well and saute for 1 minute.
  5. Add the idlis, mix well and saute for 2 minutes.
  6. Serve hot by garnished with spring onions.
