A lovely dinner side dish recipe, Chicken hongkong is prepared in true Hongkong style with marinated chicken juliennes tossed with soya sauce, chilli sauce , vinegars and sesame oil. Enjoy as starter or with rice .

Ingredients


BONELESS CHICKEN 600 gms
CORNFLOUR 6 tbsp
CAPSICUM 2 nos
GREEN CHILLIES 2/3
BAMBOO SHOOTS 1 oz
SPRING ONIONS(CHOPPED)3 nos
GARLIC(CRUSHED) 2 flakes
SOYA SAUCE 1 tbsp
CHICKEN STOCK 6 cups
AJINOMOTO 1/2 tsp
SALT 1/2 tsp
SUGAR 1 tsp
1 tsp black pepper (kalimirch) powder
RED CHILLI SAUCE 1 tsp
OIL 2-3 tbsp

Method

  1. 1. cut the chicken and capsicum in juliennes.
  2. 2. marinate the chicken in soya sauce, 4 tsp cornflour,salt, pepper, sugar & ajinomoto for 15-20 mts and fry the chicken till golden brown.
  3. 3. heat oil& fry garlic till light brown and then add the capsicum. fry a little. now add the bambooshoots, greenchillies, sring onions and stir fry. when onions become transparent, add the chicken stock. reduce the flame.
  4. 4. add seasoning and sauces and bring it to a boil.
  5. 5. mix the remaining cornflour with water & add it.
  6. Bring it to a boil.
  7. 6. let simmer for 10 mts.
  8. 7. remove from stove and add the fried chicken and garnish with leaves of spring onion just before serving.
