Baking Temperature: 200°C (400°F).
Makes 35 straws.

Ingredients

Method
  1. Sieve the flour and add the salt.
  2. Rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips till the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  3. Add the vegetables and cheese and mix well.
  4. Add ice-cold water (approx. 1 tablespoon) and knead into dough.
  5. On a lightly floured board roll out the dough to about 6 mm (¼") thickness.
  6. Use a knife to cut into 100 mm. (4") long strips.
  7. Arrange the straws on an un-greased baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 200ºC (400°F) for 10 to 12 minutes.
  8. Cool completely and store in an air-tight container.
