Capsicum Cheese Pakoda, it is a mouthwatering snack with combination of capsicum and cheese, which when gets melted while cooking, it is yummy. Loved by kids and all.

Ingredients


For The Pakodas
1 big capsicum
3 cheese cubes

For The Batter
3 tbsp besan (bengal gram flour)
a pinch asafoetida (hing)
1/4 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/4 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp soda bi-carb
salt to taste

Method
  1. Cut the capsicum into cubes of approx 1 inch. Keep aside.
  2. Cut cheese cube into 4 pieces. Keep aside.
  3. Mix all the batter ingredients except the soda bi-carb and form semi thick paste using water.
  4. Heat the oil in kadai.
  5. Now add the soda to the batter, mix well.
  6. Place piece of cheese on capsicum and dip it in batter holding it together and fry on medium flame for 2-3 minutes or until it turns to golden brown in colour from all the sides.
  7. Remove on absorbent paper.
  8. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make more pakodas
  9. Serve hot with ketchup.

Tip:

  1. If unable to hold together capsicum and cheese, insert it in toothpick and then dip in batter and deep-fry it.
