Bread pulao brings forth a lovely variation to the traditional rice based vegetable, pulao recipe. The breads are crushed and cooked with stir fried vegetables, spices and served hot.

8 bread slices
1 boiled and chopped potato
1 chopped tomato
2 tbsp ghee
1 tap mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
4 to 5 curry leaves (kadi patta)
salt and freshly ground black pepper powder to taste
butter as rewuired
1 tbsp lemon juice
chopped coriander (dhania) for garnishing

  1. Cut each bread slice into 4 pieces and keep aside.
  2. Heat the ghee in a kadhai and add the mustard seeds.
  3. When the seeds crackle, add the asafoetida and curry leaves and saute for 10 seconds.
  4. Add the potatoes and saute for 2 minutes.
  5. Add the lemon juice, salt, pepper and some butter and saute for 2 minutes.
  6. Add the tomatoes and saute for more 2 minutes.
  7. Add the bread slices and mix well and cook for 3 minutes.
  8. Serve hot garnished with coriander.
