The consistency and texture of your pasta is very important for the success of many italian recipes. Cooking it less or more can result in rubbery or soggy pastas, which can often be unpalatable. Here is an ideal way to make boiled pasta using the handy kitchen helper, the microwave oven.
- Put 1 1/2 liters of water in a glass bowl. Microwave on high for 2 1/2 minutes and bring to a boil.
- Add the olive oil, pasta and salt and micorwave on high for about 4 to 5 minutes, stirring once in-between after 2 minutes.
- Remove from the cooker, cover and allow to stand for 1 to 2 minutes in case of noodles (3 to 4 minutes in case of spaghetti and macaroni). Drain.
- Use as required.
