Made with a combination of spices, sauces, onions and lemon juice, the barbeque sauce is a pungent, tangy sauce that is a must-have for barbeques and a nice-to-have ingredient for certain sandwiches too. It has the characteristic flavour of charcoal imbibed in melted butter, which makes it a culinary pleasure when properly made.
- Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Allow to simmer for about 10 to 12 minutes.
- Heat the charcoal over a gas till it is red hot and place it in a small bowl.
- Place this bowl in the saucepan that contains the sauce, pour the butter over the coal and cover it immediately. Leave aside for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Remove the bowl containing the coal and discard.
- Serve warm.
