Baked Cheese, Chutney and Mustard Rolls

Thin slices of bread brushed with butter and mustard, coated with chutney and cheese, deftly rolled up and baked until perfectly crisp. Truly, the baked cheese, chutney and mustard rolls is nothing short of mouth-watering. . . Serves well as a teatime snack or as a starter.

Baking Temperature:  180°C (360°F)

Ingredients

6 fresh bread slices
butter for brushing and greasing
1 tsp mustard (rai / sarson) powder mixed with 2 tsp water
6 tsp green chutney
3 tbsp grated processed cheese

Method
  1. Roll each bread slice very thinly with the help of a rolling pin.
  2. Lightly butter the bread slices and spread little mustard mixture on top.
  3. Spread 1 teaspoon of chutney and sprinkle 1/2 tablespoon of grated cheese on each slice.
  4. Roll up each slice tightly in a cigar shape roll and secure with a toothpick.
  5. Arrange the rolls on a lightly greased baking tray and brush with a little melted butter.
  6. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°c (360°f) for 10 minutes.
  7. Serve immediately.
