Apple halwa, this unusual yet delicious halwa made of fibre-rich apples. Walnuts provide essential fatty acids whereas mava is loaded with milk proteins, truly making this dish an irresistible fruity delight!

Ingredients

1 1/2 tbsp ghee
2 1/4 cups grated apples
1/4 cup grated mava (khoya)
3/4 cup milk
3 1/2 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup chopped walnuts (akhrot)
a few drops of vanilla essence

Method
  1. Heat the ghee in a broad non-stick pan, add the apples and cook on a medium flame for 5 to 7 minutes, while stirring continuously.
  2. Add the mava, mix well and cook on a medium flame for another 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring continuously.
  3. Add the milk and simmer for 7 to 8 minutes, while stirring twice in between.
  4. Add the sugar and walnuts, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 7 to 8 minutes or till all the moisture evaporates, while stirring continuously. Keep aside to cool.
  5. Add the vanilla essence and mix well.

How to pack

  1. Cool slightly and pack in a tiffin box.
