Aloo ka halwa is a sweet dish prepared from the mix of grated potatoes, ghee, milk and sugar.An easy dessert recipe for unannounced guests using handy ingredients.

4 potatoes, boiled and mashed
6 tsp ghee
a pinch sugar
1/2 cup boiling water
saffron (kesar) strands


  1. First place ghee in a non stick heavy and deep pan.
  2. Put mashed potato in it.
  3. Fry this on low ..medium heat til this turns in to golden brown or aroma comes.
  4. After this pour in the boling water and sugar in this.
  5. Stir this till it leaves ghee or starts leaving the pan...there should not be any lumps.if necessary add some more water but very little
