Ripe mango pieces dipped in thick batter consisting of besan, rice flour, carom seeds, chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida, salt and deep fried.

To Be Mixed Together Into A Thick Batter
3/4 cup besan (bengal gram flour)
1/4 cup rice flour (chawal ka atta)
1/4 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
2 pinches asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste

Other Ingredients
2 ripe mangoes , peeled and sliced
oil for deep frying

  1. Heat the oil in a kadhai, dip the mango slices individually into the batter and deep fry till they turn golden brown and crisp from all the sides.
  2. Make more such pakodas using the remaining mango slices and batter.
  3. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  4. Serve hot with mint chutney.
